DBX on or off ??
« on: November 26, 2017, 07:32:08 PM »
Never messed with DBX much and usually leave it off. If I record with it on for track 4 but track 1-3 has it off does it matter if i turn it on or off for when I play the tape back into my computer using the Line Out? Overall just unsure when and how to make best use of it.

Hmmm... I've never really messed with the dbx always just left it on. Never considered what would happen if you recorded with it on and then turned it off to play back but I would assume the tracks with it on would maintain whatever benefit having recorded with it provides and vice versa for the track recorded without it. Let me know what you find.

with DBX the signal to noise ratio on the 424mkiii is almost 95db which is close to CD.  When you turn DBX off the noise floor increases dramatically.
